|Title:||Access to Detainees in Secret Detention|
The CNI (Centro Nacional de Informaciones - Chilean secret police) refuse to let the mother of Ignacio Vidaurrazaga into the detention centre to see him, despite a court order, Chle, August 1984.
In August 1984, when Concepcion Appeals Court judge Maria Cristina Aqueveque asked to visit prisoner Ignacio Vidaurrázaga, he was transferred to Santiago. There, a court demanded to see the prisoner and the Santiago judge was able to confirm the reason the man had been concealed: Vidaurrazaga could not walk unaided, and had wounds and bruises, clearly as a result of torture.
Archivists note: there is a small chance that this may actually be a photograph of Judge Agueveque rather than the prisoners mother. Needs confirming.
Secret detention centre location unknown.
