Amnesty International Zimbabwe activists march through the capital Harare to peacefully protest against the death penalty on World Day Against the Death Penalty.
Events took place in the city that day including a rally under the title - Time to abolish the death penalty in Zimbabwe. Justice minister Emerson Mnangagwa spoke at the rally.
Death Penalty Day that falls on October 10 every year, is meant to encourage states to adopt the principle that ‘the use of the death penalty undermines human dignity’.
