Residents of Magash village, west of Sa'da City, refilling their jerrycans with water.
Access to water, already limited before the conflict due to dwindling resources and poor infrastructure, has been further hindered by the lack of electricity and fuel needed to operate the pumps and by damage caused to water and sanitation infrastructure. As a result a growing percentage of the population resorted to using unsafe water from contaminated sources.
