This community has experienced multiple oil spills since Shell started operations there in the 1960's. SPDC (A subsidiary of Shell) stopped operating in the area (Which is in Ogoniland) in the 1990's, but the environment remains polluted. The community are calling fro Shell to clean up NOW! |
