HANAN BADR EL-DIN BECAME AN ACTIVIST AFTER HER HUSBAND KHALID EZZ EL-DIN DISAPPEARED AT A PROTEST ON 27 JULY 2013. HANAN BADR EL-DIN HAS BEEN DETAINED AND INVESTIGATED FOR BELONGING TO A BANNED GROUP SINCE 6 MAY 2017. SHE WAS ARRESTED WHILE VISITING A FORMER VICTIM OF ENFORCED DISAPPEARANCE WHO HAD REAPPEARED IN A PRISON IN QANATAR, GREATER CAIRO.
